New OS

My friend laptop is very slow and sluggish i think he has a virus on it so I want to format the drive and put a new OS on it and put a Antivirus on his laptop. The problem is that he not good at computers and told me he has Windows Vista… but he don’t know if its home or premium or anything. I want to put Windows 7 home on his laptop, will it be compatable??

Install Windows XP.

If there is enough RAM (2k upwards) put Windows 7 Ultimate on it and if necessary you can use Vista drivers if you have any problems.

I don’t know how much ram he has I leave friday to go to his house but im asking should i just reinstall a fresh version of vista or fresh install windows 7??

Fresh install Windows 7, Vista is well past it’s sell by date and was never a good OS in any case.
Be sure to save anything he wants to save first though.

I’d 2nd or 3rd or whatever Win7.
Visa is HORRID and XP is pretty outdate at this point.
Win7 is basically all the good parts of Visa with all the good parts of XP.
Just skip Win8.

First, delete everything and then install the Windows 7. It’s okay and compatible.

you may as well use windows 7 ultimate its the best version.
