Netgear WG111v2 help

im trying to connect my other desktop computer to my network using the netgear wireless adapter wg111v2 and i cant connect to the network. i installed the software off the website and got all the drivers. i try using netgear smart wizard but it dosnt show my network so i cant choose it to connect to, and when i set the connection to allow windows to configure it and i click show available networks it says there are none and i should turn wireless on on my computer..
i tried calling netgear but of course my warrenty is over and all this stuff so this is basically my last resort, i googled alot and that didnt help at all surprisingly so.
if anyone can help that wood be great

ok so.. it wont show any access points or wireless routers at all?

what wireless router do you have?

vista… go to start >> right click computer >> manage >> click device manager on left side >> make sur eyour usb network drive which you are using is identified correctly under network adaptors, if not install drivers
go to start >> control panel >> *view classic view* click network and sharing center >> on left hand side click manage network connections >> ensure your device you’r etrying to use is showing up in that list.
