Need help installing XP in my vista Laptop

February 12th, 2022

I already have a CD with Windows Xp from Wbb and I wanted to install it on my laptop that has vista because vista slows it down a lot. I don’t have anything important in this PC so I just want to clean install Xp, deleting vista in the process. Problem is, I have no idea how to do this. Can someone please give me a detailed guide on how to do this?
Answer #1
Go in BIOS, make first boot to be CD/DVD, reboot.. Then press any key to boot from CD/DVD ( wait for that message on screen ). And then format your HDD ( follow instructions ), after that, on next restart DO NOT TOUCH KEYBOARD and you will se XP logo and instalation will continue. Thats all ( follow instructions till the end )
Answer #2
I’ve made CD/DVD first priority but when I reboot all that happens is that Vista opens like usual. I get no message to boot from CD
Answer #3
Is that Bootable CD ( Windows XP )?
Answer #4
Yes, downloaded it from WBB from a topic that had lots of replies saying it worked, burned it to a CD just like it said and it still doesn’t work
Answer #5
It’s probably not burned as an ISO. I would have thought you could just run the CD and follow the install directions.
Or, I may be totally wrong.
Answer #6
Well, I’ll try checking the iso and reburning it to see if that solves it
