My PC can only play sound through one speaker
January 23rd, 2020
control pa, audio settings, see thats it’s set on stereo, also check mixer settings -> stereo not mono or others chans
…and check that any ‘balance’ controls are set in the middle..
Yes, do all above and make sure speaker isn’t faulty!
Check the speaker jacks
You could try reinstalling drivers ……… choose your OS from here:

well thanks for trying with these, but none of them work
it is a realtek driver that i already have reinstalled countless times, but it still doesnt function
is there any way i could force both chans through one speaker?
try to use shared audio. removed ur sound card use shared audio. im sure theres a problem with ur sound card!
there prolly is, i think its a chinese AC97 type deal, but i dont know
also, i cant set mixer settings, i have limited options etc. does this possible mean faulty drivers then? would i need to use ASIO or something like that?
check your musicplayer and see if the balance setting is on the middle
yea the balance is in the middle, i use XMPlay, but i tried all my music on WMP to see if it had something to do with the player, but it was still only the left speaker
Have you tried another speaker on the system that isn’t working. If another speaker doesn’t work on there it may be a faulty jack. But since you say both front and back jacks don’t work this may be unlikely.
You can also try to:
1) Double click the bottom right icon in the taskbar with the speaker to open up the volume properties
2) Change the balance completely towards the chan that isn’t working (I think in your case the right speaker isn’t working)
3) Turn on some music in winamp or whichever software you use.
4) Try to see if you can hear anything from there. Turn the audio really high. If you can hear the audio faintly it may be the the jack is causing problems. But if there is no sound at all then you’re nearly guarenteed it’s a software problem.
Post back and let us know how it goes. By the way is this a new problem that just started now or has it been the same since you got your computer?
