If you burn the movie with “convertxtodvd” it don’t matter what the “format” is.

so it will automaticly use the 5.1 surround system ? withot the need of ac3 or something ? and is it will make the dvd size bigger ? like a 700 regular dvdrip will be a 2GB or something after the covert ?

You will probably need to install the ac3 codec

This is what to do.
Download and install the latest version of Convertxtodvd, Find the movie/tv show you want to watch on your surround sound, Drag and drop into Convertxtodvd, Insert a DVD/DVD RW disc into your computer and BAM, You’re on you’re way.

it works!! thanks!!!!

Are the movies we download, regardless of format rendered in 5.1 ? What if I have a 5.1 system on my PC. How can I utilize that with movies?
Answer #7
The movie would have to be encoded with surround sound in it… If you have a 5.1 system it won’t fully utilize it, as it won’t be true surround sound, yes you will hear sound coming out of all the speakers as it will split the sound so the experience makes you feel more immersed, but it won’t have for instance distinct instruments/effects/voices coming out of the correct speakers as the sound would in a true 5.1 audio piece. Imagine a car driving around you, if you closed your eyes in 5.1 true setup you could hear at any point what angle its at, if its virtual surround you could just hear it better than if there were 2 speakers as it will sound like its all around.
Answer #8
Right, so the 5.1 that convertxtodvd emulates is just virtual.. How much memory / what is involvedi n a movie being encoded in 5.1 ? Which formats support 5.1 and how to carry it over when it is burnt to a dvd
Answer #9
You should start by downloading movies that mention that they are in AC3 or 5.1 sound…Then when you convertx to dvd or whatever they will be in true 5.1 sound..
Here is an example….

AC3 is is just a codec though isn’t it, or does it having AC3 imply that it is 5.1
