more harm on hdd
August 26th, 2021
I’d demand that I get a new one or get your money back. I sure as hell wouldn’t put up with a hdd that has bad sectors out of the box.
go to WD’s site and get there diagnostic tool to check/repair(maybe) the drive
http://support.wdc.com/
and if the dealer won’t swap the drive just return it if it’s new
then go somewhere else and get another one
If you really want to nuke your harddrive use a magnet. But I don’t recommend it… I’d rather go back to the dealer and try again getting a new drive.
You would need one hell of a strong magnet.
A magnet might erase data, but not damage the drive.
Forget the dealer, talk to the manufacturer. WD has always been pretty good for customer service.
send it in as RMA.
lots lots of thanks
