Looking for good quality camcorder

February 16th, 2014

HD, around $200, with a battery life of at least 2 hours would be helpful…would be used mainly for home movies..no pistol type. I’ve been reading and looking online for a few days now, it’s all confusing to me. I’ve never owned one before but hubby wants one to take on a trip next month. We have a canon T1i camera and I told him we could use it to record video…lol.

You can record video on that…Probably better than a cheap camcorder..
Anyhow say what country to buy from so people will know where to look.
Answer #2
USA
Answer #3
I would save the money, and have less to carry by using the Rebel, it records in full HD anyway.
Answer #4
the more I look at camcorders the more I’m seeing my camera is looking better. How large memory cards do they make for my camera? The battery for my camera has always held up really well.
Answer #5
well this is what I found about the T1i, my camera…
The higher the Quality setting, the larger the size of the file needed to store the movie. At the highest setting, you can fit about 12 minutes of movie on a 4GB memory card; drop the setting to 640 x 480, and you can double the length of the movie. No matter what Quality setting is selected, the maximum size for all movie files is 4GB.

It’s SDHC, so really you are looking at 32GB a decent one here in the UK is about £100, but you can get much cheaper ones.
You can always use micro SDHC with an adapter.
