Linix format HDD to PC format

August 7th, 2016

I got a 4 TB external drive at a garage sale. It was reformatted to run on a Linix machine. I attempted to just plug it into my Windows 10 machine, with the intention to reformat it. Windows does not see the drive. First thought it was bad, but had a friend who uses Linix and she said she could read the disk no problem.
What am I doing wrong to get Windows to just “see” the drive so I can reformat it NTFS so I can use it?
I am at a loss… (guess I am just getting old).
Thank you.

Use a Partition Tool like Acronis Disk Director..
Delete any existing partitions..
Create new ntfs partition(s)..
First partition: ntfs/Primary/Active..

^Don’t really /need/ to do that, honestly.
Start > this PC > right click > manage > disks and format it there.
*You can do what said but that’s just a pain in the arse you don’t need.
Answer #3
Open the run dialog and type
diskmgmt.msc
