laptop-TV-speakers set-up?

Basically i want to watch movies from my laptop on my TV, i can do that via HDMI cable to my television. But then the audio come out from my built in TV speakers and i want to know how i can hook my laptop to my tv as well as coming out of my speaker system….
I have a basic Sony theater set-up, any help will be much appreciated

If your TV is connected to the speaker system. Just go to the menu in your HDTV, i don’t exactly remember how I did it, but there is a setting in there that lets you select an option that routes all audio from your TV to the speaker systems. Something like audio setup or something. Just fiddle with the menus in your TV.

You have to set the audio output to hdmi. Go to your configuration, sound. There you will normally see “speakers’ as default, rightclick on the hdmi output and set that one as default, now the sound will go through your hdmi cable.
