Laptop freezes when playing video?

Seems to be any kind of video; Youtube, Iplayer, WMP. When watching the laptop will just freeze for maybe 3 mins with no response to anything and the sound goes really weird. Also sometimes happens when playing music through Itunes/Spotify, never happens when video or music aren’t playing. Tried to do clean ups and such but no luck. Any ideas what it could be? Praying its not hardware. P.S. No hardware/software changes have been made that could cause this. The only thing that has changed is ive moved to uni so on a different wifi but thats it.

Provide system specs…
Also, are you monitoring your hardware, such as CPU usage, and temps?

I suggest you update your video card & sound drivers,Get em from the laptop manufacturer site for the particular model.
Also,Update your flash player,Uninstall all codec packs and install this one:

The specs are; HP G62 Laptop, Windows 7 64-bit, 2GB RAM, 160GB HDD, 2.13 GHz Intel.

Specs are fine, do what Roberto said, see if that solves your problem.
