How to Solve Cinavia Protection Issue prior to burning movie to disk?
October 3rd, 2019
My Blu-Ray player gave me the Audio protection message. (Cinavia Protection) How can I prevent this after I download these types of files?
I know the protection is somewhat based on the Blu Ray player, but what do I need to do to the files
prior to burning to disk?
Do you know? I know I can move the files to a USB drive and play the movie from that. What
can be done prior to burning to disk?
edit: I didn’t see any topic discussing Cinavia in over one year. I take it nothing can be done?
Dunno if there is anything really new but you could check this idea..

As you will see, CloneBD must be able to decode the audio stream. (that’s where that dreaded Cinavia ‘virus’ is hidden!)

thanks
Latest versions of DVDFab has the cinavia removal stuff. I have not tried it. I did post a question about this a few weeks back. I dont know if it works or not. Maybe something you can try. You might have to rip the dvd you already made back to your drive. I just cannot be sure. Let us know what you figure out. Good Luck!

I moved the audio folder and the video folder to one of my usb drives. The blu ray player has a front usb
port so I still watched the movie thru the blu ray player, but via usb just fine. Sisters 2015. is a funny movie
cool you got lucky. most still block even thru the usb port. glad you got it!
Block? doubt it, most don’t check the usb port for cinavia as its not part of the standard. Cinavia checks for optical disc

I thought about SONY when reading this.
Found this.
Samsung & Sony are notorious for detecting Cinavia from any source. USB/Optical.
Yes, don’t update the firmware !

are you serious???
can i play cinavia protected files through usb??
damn it!! i haven’t tried it yet. will see how it goes.
It’s a little strange that i haven’t heard about this before since i have done so much research about this topic.
yup. Afaik the cinavia standard is only mandatory detection when playback from DISCS. Sony, then again, might be a different matter for the simple reason they’re one of the main backers / inventors of the technology.

My Sony bluray player has problems playing just about every bluray I’ve put in it, original of course.
I’ve updated firmware twice and it still won’t play properly.
It’s like it’s falling over where layer change is or something.
VERY annoying.
I’ve seen start of Avatar about 6 times, but never can get through the whole movie.
I’m worried about if they put this virus into new updates.
But Sony say they’ll tell you if it’s been added to update.
But once update, it could be too late then.
USB detect depends on the player – My samsung and my old sony both detect(ed) the cinavia virus.
if you find you have a lot of cinavia films – buy a cheap TV set top box with player (I can recommend the Augsut 415, I have it, it works perfectly).
