How do i slow the speed of the mouse scroller, when the …

… the option is no longer there?
at the moment the scroll speed is rapid so i cant use scrolling as its too fast
i have an ASUS K52F laptop
i tried ‘roll back driver’ and it then lets me access WLAN (so i can slow the scroll speed) but the fn keys then dont work, when i then upgrade the driver (so the fn keys work), the option vanishes
– this fault started after i upgraded the wlan driver but why?
i go to control panel , change mouse wheel settings, and where it once had WLAN tabs which let me change the mouse settings, its now been replaced with Ultrnav tabs which dont have the option to change scroll speed,
– when i click settings under touchpad i get this which doesnt let me select anything
Image
– on a second note … the volume fn keys intermittently work.
so sometimes the fn and F10(mute), F11(volume down), F12(volume up) hotkeys work fine, but sometimes they dont adjust the volume, even though the volume icon appears on the screen and shows it muting, going up and going down, just the sound doesnt change at all?
how do i sort this?
thanks

Answer #1
lets me access WLAN
WLAN = wireless local area network – what’s that got to do with the mouse ?
do you have a restore point from before the problem started ?
if so you try that
or uninstall your hot key app & mouse/touchpad software and uninstall any entries under “mice..” in device mgr
then reboot and windows will re-install the hardware
then re-install the apps
Answer #2
sorry i meant ELAN NOT WLAN,
i think ELAN is the mouse/touchpad
i dont have a recent restore point before installing win7 ultimate as i stupidly deleted the 25gb reovery partition
i could try that uninstall idea, but i dont know what im looking for?
do i go to control panl then uninstll a program …
or do i remove certain drivers?
Answer #3
i done the uninstalling idea, which has slowed down the scrolling speed, so thanks,
although there is no menu/option to edit the scroll speed, hats okay as its slower now
and ive realised the sound now stops being controlled by the fn hotkeys when i have headphones plugged in
so is there specific driver i need to have to allow the headphones to work properly with the fn hotkeys?
thanks
