Answer #2
Thanks for all your replys m8 no i dont have a spare gfx card or one i ca borrow just wated to check if theres anything else i can do. I do have onboard grahics if that help. I checked bios and set x16 as default but still
Answer #3
The card will not fit in a x4 slot.
Seems you had it in the right slot to begin with.
The bottom slot is a x16 slot but it will run x4 if the top slot is used.
Thought the card should be in the top slot.
EDIT: Not on your board, my mistake.
It should deffo be in the top slot.
The slot may well be faulty. it happens.

I was mistaken, amended my post. your bottom x16 slot is sharing the bus with the other slots and not the top x16 slot.
You should be installing in the top slot.
Not sure if the x4 slot @ x4 would bottleneck a card like the HD 5770.
might be no gain from x4 to x16.
Still, you don’t want to run it on the x4 lane or keep a board with a non working x16 slot.

Yeah excatly what i was thinking might as well get it changed now but i wanted to know if i was doing anything wrong. Grr really annoyed i got a faulty model and i have to pay £5 shipping back to dabs! Thanks for your help
Answer #7
Yeh that’s just plain bad luck by the sounds of it.
The fact you have it all working on the x4 slot suggest you are doing things right.
Otherwise it wouldn’t work on any slot.
Best arrange a RMA as soon as possible.

Dabs are usually pretty good, if you moan about the return cost then they usually give you a money off voucher/code for future purchases, it’s happened to me a couple of times.

Unless you want to spend more than you paid for that one on a higher end board then a replacement would be all good.
You were just really unlucky, wouldn’t read much into it.
