Help Needed in Choosing Motherboard
August 5th, 2016
The problem is with the Bios, kaveri processors need bios update,so they need an old processor to do it,but a guy told me that you can just update the BIOS by using flash drive,he said it’s easy with Asus EZ Flash,he did the same thing
can that Asus motherboard can be updated even with incompatible processor??.if possible how to do it
tell me a way to update bios without an old processor
Googled something for you, maybe you can try it. It gives step by step instruction on BIOS update of ASUS board via USB

I also have an Asus motherboard.
Asus EZ Flash is very easy to use. For my motherboard (look at my signature). I dont even need an usb. I just go into BIOS-EZ FLASH then look on my C Drive for my downloaded update BIOS and the motherboard will do the rest.
Before updating the BIOS. Make sure the update is capable with your cpu.
Seems there has been a few probs with that board..
Best to get the right ram too.

I really would expect to be supplied with something that works,however..
If in doubt, you might consider this ASRock..

RAM,you should install them in the same colour ones, not in the sidebyside one’s,The problem is Asus A88XM-A motherboard is the only m-atx board available in india,Luckily there is an Asus Service center,i think i should ask them,i guess that’s the only solution
From my experience, Motherboards generally don’t post when the processor is unsupported (Black screen)
So odds are that you would not be able to update the BIOS to the latest version without having an older, Supported processor to use for the task. You might get lucky and get the newest revision of the motherboard, Which will support the 7850k out of the box, But still, It’s not worth the risk IMO. Better just go with another motherboard instead (And verify support in advance of course)
Edit: Just read about it being the only M.ATX motherboard available in your country. If your case only supports M.ATX ones, You could just replace it, This will surely give you a few more options to choose from!
Yes, best contact support center..
According to their support site, you may need to upgrade bios, but it does not mention that there should be a problem booting up.

From what I read it might be best to use one stick of ram until after the upgrade.
Also check on the support site that the ram you get will be compatible.

Many said the same thing about the black screen, atleast it would have been good if we get into the bios, saw many forums Threads, only way to update is by older processors.i wish atleast the bios version is written on the box,i will call them tomorrow(today is holiday) and ask them about it or i will ask them when did the stock arrived, that will tell the bios version. There are only 2 FM2+ Mobo’s available in indian online shops 1. Asrock A88 FM2+ Extreme 6 2.Asus A88XM-A.so i just had to go for Asus.the price was good with good features

Looking at this topic in the Asrock forum, it appears that the Kaveri may not boot at all with the “wrong” memory, even though it would boot OK with an A4 apu..

Also fast memory (2133MHz) is important for best graphics performance..
