Help me choose a core

I’m really hoping someone could help me make my mind up, and please out of experience and not just stuff you read online cause i found that misleading sometimes.
I’m thinking with my budget i might be able to get an i5 2500k, but i’d rather save up the money and buy it’s AMD counterpart.
so which AMD model is similar to the i5 2500k, and would it deliver weaker of higher performance??

In my experience, I have always gone with Intel instead of AMD.
The reason being AMD use to run hot back in the day, and since then I have only run Intel, and have never had any problems.
If I was you, I would be buying the Intel processor, but research is always advisable

Why doesn’t anybody just wait for the new generation of cores? They’ll be out very soon.
AMD is better if you are willing to spend 150 or under. Anything more you get intel.
There is no (not yet) AMD processor faster than the 2500k, but those 8 core and 12 core AMD bulldozers that are being released this month might.
