Help About OS 3.0

I have jailbroken my ipod touch OS3.0 using redsnow
I have the following query please help me
[1] Installing cracked Apps in OS 3.0
I have to follow the method mentioned here right

But when i click sources from manage in cydia..the cydia closes please help
Is there any ways found to install appsync without wifi..so that i can install cracked apps

To install it i have to 1st search and install vlc4iphone from cydia
Then i have to also search and install openssh from cydia right??
then.. What program i have to use to put files into the ipod and change the permissions of it..

1. I think cydia is just crashing – it’s bound to be buggy on new firmware. Try rebooting your iPod, see if that helps.
2. Use a program called WinSCP – look up ‘iPhone ssh tutorial’ on youtube, it’s simple enough to do.
3. Do you have a 2nd gen iPod touch? The 1st gen iPod’s don’t have the bluetooth chip, so can’t do this.
