Have a business idea for existing company: what to do?

July 31st, 2013

Hi,
Of course I can’t go into great detail on my idea, but I’m having a business idea for an existing company which would create a new revenue stream for them.
The problem is, I can’t really figure out how to go to the company with my idea without my idea being stolen by them. I can’t get a licence or copyright on my idea because it’s just a way to increase their revenues without launching a new product, just an additional service.
Does anyone here have experience with this? Your help would be much appreciated!

Depending on where you are, you CAN copyright an idea like that.
If you are genuine, you should have a chat with the trademark and copyright people where you are.
You CAN even approach the company and tell them you have this idea, but want to be paid for your idea if it works, and see what they say.
you can post a letter to your lawyer, dated and registered, with FULL details fo the idea, then after a week or so, go to the company and have the above chat with them.
