firefox video lag

Why do videos lag on my firefox browser. Work fine on Internet explorer. but very often I get lag on firefox? I updated the shock player thing still same issue? annoying how do I fix

the online movie players. shockshare, pretty much all of them for some reason I get little lag sometimes
