FIFA 11 PC Lag + FIFA 12 LAG

December 31st, 2013

Well I downloaded the FIFA 11 Reloaded upload, and I’ve been having some lag problems with it. I’ve noticed that in task manager its priority is set to “below normal” and that when I change it to high or realtime it just changes back to below normal. My computer is on the high end; 1gb graphics card, 4gb ram etc. and I’m running Windows 7. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Answer #1
Below normal shouldn’t matter too much unless you have a lot of other stuff running. Besides, a lot of things will be shunted out to the GPU. I’m guessing you have the latest drivers for your card? Is anything else running on the system?
Answer #2
What’s your rig again?
Answer #3
Yes we need more pc specs since 1 gb graphics card isent helpfull.
We need graphics card and processer names.
Answer #4
1GB Graphics Card doesn’t indicate a high end PC. What’s the model of your Graphics Card? What’s your Processor speed? Core 2 Duo or Pentium 4 or Quad Core?
Answer #5
how do i change the video settings?
Answer #6
homeronweed – Go to program files > ea sports > fifa 11 > game > fifasetup and click on fifaconfig
Mmm, well I have nothing else running so maybe I shouldn’t be worrying about that. Yes, I have the latest drivers and no, I turn off everything including my Kaspersky AV when I play the game.

change your video settings to the lowest possible and build up the graphicquality.
C:\Program Files\EA Sports\FIFA 11\Game\fifasetup\fifaconfig.exe
Answer #8
Time for a video card upgrade mate, or an entire upgrade.
Answer #9
Max settings enabled – thanks

Mmm, I’ve already tried it. The lowest graphic quality still lags :S

I had one last year, cost $1000. I don’t see what’s wrong with my rig though man. I mean the recommended is 2gb ram and 256mb graphics card… and I blitz that.
homeronweed replied: Max settings enabled - thanks
No problem, do you lag though?
Answer #11
What is a common mistake in hardware assumption is graphics memory, even cheap graphics cards have loads of memory.
However you would usually only need more than 1 Gigabyte of graphics memory when your playing over 1920×1080 resolutions.
I had a 8400GS which had 256 Megabytes of GDDR2, now that is utter trash regardless of any amounts of memory it has.
Answer #12
Its a Dell, that answers the question by its self!
Answer #13

I’m playing with 1280 x 1024 resolution, I hardly think that’s demanding at all man.

There’s some stuttering between frames, so for example I dribble with the ball and then all of a sudden I’m like 5 meters ahead of where I was before.

Me too having these lags.
Specs
Core 2 Duo E4500 2.2GHZ
3Gb Ram
Palit GTS 250 512mb
Win7 64bit.
It lags especially in centre of pitch. I think it’s an issue with win7 64bit cause my system plays high end games very well. Any solution yet??

Anyone have ideas yet?

Answer #25
same problem too
Answer #26
BUMP, tried updating the patch and the lag is still there… really irritating.

I was getting some intermittent stuttering on my laptop so I changed anti aliasing through ati catalyst and the stuttering’s gone, also gone from 30fps to 60fps. Try overriding the anti aliasing through nvidia control panel (not sure how it’s done as I don’t have an nvidia card but through ati catalyst it’s done by unticking the “use application settings” checkbox under anti-aliasing settings).

I’ve disabled anti-aliasing in fifasetup and I just checked my nvidia settings and it’s already off Good idea though.

I wasn’t referring to actually turning anti-aliasing off but setting it so it’s managed by the nvidia drivers and not the fifa game itself, I notice a great improvement with fifa 11 when I do this with my setup, thought it might help.
Answer #30
Tried it man, no luck. This is so frustrating
Answer #31
For some reason the lag has gotten worse the past couple of days…. does anyone have a solution yet?

Try starting the game, then at+tab, go to task manager, under ‘processes’, right click on fifa then ‘set priority’ to high.
or you can download defraggler and defrag your fifa folder.
or this,

Answer #33
Try enabling vSync and play in Medium/high settings
Set max no of pre rendered frames to 3
Disable AA
Set priority to high
This should do
Also try reinstalling the game
Answer #34
Mmmm I’ve tried the processes trick before but it just sets it back to whatever it had previously as soon as I unpause the game.
I’ve tried that tejagamer
Anything else?
Answer #35
Disabling “Waiting for Vsync” in fifa11 game config file fixed it for me. Hope this helps

Good suggestion man, I noticed a little difference with this, however there is still some major lag
Answer #37
Still don’t see the problem. I have a 9400 1GB with 2.5 gigs.
Must be something internal I guess. Then again I’m just assuming
Answer #38
Yerr, who knows? Anybody know what the problem is yet? I’m finding myself having to play PES 2011
Answer #39
idk if i got the skills yet to help but….sometimes i play games it uses my cpu instead of my gpu.
i got a nvidia card, so when i get into the settings page for my card, theres a “application control” tab where you can control which games/apps can use your graphics card. try that
Answer #40
Thanks for the suggestion man, but still no luck
Answer #41
One question: Was the lag there from the start? Right from the time you installed the game? or has it suddenly come up recently?

Try using this tweak to disable the crowd:

What FPS are you getting, check with FRAPS.

On average, we’re talking 25-26 fps with lowest settings
Answer #45
Also tried changing the resolution (obviously). This is keeping me from playing FIFA
Answer #46
to be honest..i think there is no prob with the performance wif ur gpu..i might thnk the cpu also play some part in this problem as ur cpu is pentium D..it clearly stated the minimu, cpu is core 2 duo..i had tried before using pentium D rig and 9600gt gpu..and it cause me a little lag..but not as bad as u explained..try to look on this link..http://www.downloadatoz.com/driver/articles/fifa-11-pc-crashes-freezes-bugs-errors-fix.html..and i read somewhere said that set the audio sample rate to 24bit 44.1khz will help u to reduce the lag..im not 100% sure bout it but u may give it a try..
I’ve coded the link(s) for you this time – if you don’t know how to do it, please check the sticky thread in the helpdesk section.

Answer #51
Use Prio to change the priority to High and make sure the Save Priority check box is ticked.

You can also try using softwares Like Game Booster.

Answer #52
Stick a better CPU in it. From the original specs you posted it’s a Dell
Admiral replied:
Processor:
Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 2.80GHz

Socket LGA775, depending on your chipset, you should be able to go up to a Smithfield XE, 3.2 Ghz, which you can overclock in the Dell Bios to 3.6 Ghz if you have a decent heatsink. The Intel part is SL8FK, you can often pick up cheap used ones on E-bay for £10 (new about £45 + p&p)
