EXE Virus making files corrupt

I got a virus on my computer that has made all my files into .exe and when I change the files back to the correct format the file becomes corrupt is there any way to fix this issue?

Depending on the virus, it most likely has just hidden the real file and replaced it with an EXE.
The only and best thing you can do at this moment is focus your attention on removing the virus.
1. Do you have any anti-virus software installed? If so, remove it and install ESET Smart Security 8. It will only be a trial for 30 days but you’ll get full functionality. (I highly recommend purchasing a subscription. As an IT professional for over a decade, I can say this is the best Anti-Virus software I have ever encountered.)
2. Once installed, update the definitions and perform a full scan.
3. Remove any offending infections.
4. Download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (free) and also perform a full scan.
5. Remove any offending infections.

I have done all this already im up to getting my files back but I just can’t find them.

i second the advise to install eset.
if internet security 8 didn’t solve it – try installing ESET anti virus 5, and do the same. full updates and scan.
there are some dangerous viruses / worms these days that requires you to pay for your files to set free.
try googling cryptolocker if you want to read more for example.

Use the removal tool logs to determine the threat detection type of malware/virus/trojan your dealing with. That information can help you further a search for more extensive file recovery efforts.
