Cloning USB Drive
August 4th, 2016
I wanted to find out if you could just clone the USB from one to another and if so what is the best method for doing this?
Thank you
The reason it wouldnt work is how the program makes USB self bootable.. I dont know enough about cloning to give a precise answer, as well as how devices are made self bootable other then using progs to do it for me… but I guess it would depend on one factor, how the USB is made bootable to begin with, pretty sure it wont work, but could be wrong depending on the program used…
Best example I can think off was at a point you couldnt clone a cd and have it work with out a no cd crack.. That was a while ago though…
The reason I ask is because its just annoying if I want to create multiple USB’s of this W10 and if I cant clone it then I have to redownload the same file again to USB meaning another 3gb

Download the iso and burn it with rufus instead of the media tool.
Doesn’t help when the laptops don’t have dvd drives.

Here is an easy description:
Rufus is a utility that helps format and create bootable USB flash drives, such as
USB keys/pendrives, memory sticks, etc. It can be especially useful for cases ...
This will do an exact copy that will work.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/win32diskimager/
It will create an identical copy. If the original works the copy will work too.
Use that media creation tool to download iso.
then use rufus to copy the iso to pendrive.
