A question about COPYRIGHT
December 12th, 2013
Let’s just say, I would like to dedicate the book, as a gift, to Steven Spielberg, James Cameron and Peter Jackson. I don’t think that’s much of a problem now, is it?
But what if I wrote like this in the dedication:
I would like to dedicate this book, as a gift, exclusively to my most favorite filmmakers:
Steven Spielberg (Saving Private Ryan )
James Cameron (AVATAR)
Sir Peter Jackson (Lord of the Rings)
Adding the name of the movies they made in my book. Can I get sued over it?
Is there a need to add the movie names? The directors themselves have all made More than one great movie. The names themselves Should suffice, but if your going to add the movie names anyhow then your gonna have to find someone who knows his **** good luck!
Of course you can’t get sued for mentioning the name of a film. Whether you would dedicate a book “as a gift” and whether ( as mr idea says) you need actually mention their films by name at all is another matter.
Mr.Idea replied: anyhow then your gonna have to find someone who knows his **** good luck!
hey come on… what are you trying to say?
No thats not copyright infringement
Tony_montana112 replied: No thats not copyright infringement
thanks… I think not mentioning the movie might be more professional.
