A cheap but respectable PC for Ubuntu!

I need some ideas for a Ubuntu PC I’m wanting to build. I don’t want it to be too expensive but, I don’t want it to be under powered… I would like it to run smoothly.
I’ve looked at core i3 systems and FX Bulldozer hexa core systems.
Please help

Get a used PC, Ubuntu runs on anything. Your better off with XP tho, linux windowed environments pretty bad and you cant play any games.
