Possible MegaUpload virus

January 23rd, 2020

Recently downloaded something from MegaUpload, but the popup that you often get was from a site that I haven’t seen yet.
It was “http://megus.xvoe.net/mu_mainmeg” (don’t go there for now)
I got some JavaScript warnings asking me if I want to allow it, which I denied.
But after that when I did alt+tab I noticed an application running.
Stupid me didn’t bother to get the name, though it started with an “a.”
I just instantly alt+f4’d it which got rid of it, but now I don’t know what/where/who it is.
Anybody experience this?
Any ideas on what to do to make sure my system isn’t compromised?
I will definitely be right clicking and “save link as” from now on.
Please remember that ALL links must be coded,
including, but not limited to, e-mail addresses, passwords, and internal links.
Coded for you this time.

Nahh, I don’t think MU would use a Virus ad.
eventho if you want to be sure, just run a full system scan, and full spyware scan, to be sure.
But it’s not a bad idea to allways take care of these things, u neve know what can happen

That’s good to hear. I’m not too concerned about it since there’s no unusual internet or process activity.. but it was a bit disconcerting.
