Prototype and Gamepad?

Hi
I downloaded the new Game prototype ( Im running Vista Home Premium , Core2Quad , Nvida Geforce 9500GS + 3GB ram )
The game runs find but i cant get a xbox pad to work with the game.
I got a xbox pad and converted it for PC use. The pad works fine on NFS Undercover.
It wont work on Prototype though , I checked the control panel on windows , It does recognise the pad and it is functioning correctly however when i load up Prototype i cant use the pad for anything , i have to use the keyboard.
Any ideas on whats wrong?

Funny because I have the wired 360 controller and works fine for Prototype. Have you installed the drivers?

Yea..Works fine..Just tested it…Change the control settings from Keyboard+Mouse to 360 Controller…

Okay , I went to the controller settings and the only option available is the leyboard and mouse so its like its not recognising the controller.
Also this is a original Xbox controller not a Xbox360 controller.

It probably only accepts 360 controllers for obvious reasons…
