Since you’re an Engineer, have you looked at the signal from that button to see if it’s clean, and debounced, and the proper level?. sometimes switches get so bad, even the debouncing circuit can’t handle it.. or that button may not be working at all.. if that all checks out good, you might have to uninstall Chrome, reboot, and reinstall it. I don’t use Chrome so I couldn’t say if there is a restore button like in IE..

The scrolling down and up works fine… it’s just when i do a middle click it won’t work.
P.S – ok, i just tried with another mouse, it works perfectly, i think the problem is the mouse’s button.

Middle mouse just stop working. Most mouse I ever own… The middle click is the first thing that die. Have to remap it to another button lol. Hate it when the damn middle mouse die.

Yea, middle button is mostly the first thing to go wrong, whether it’s the clicking or scrolling on web pages.
I just want to give my recommendation:
I’ve had Logitech mouse MX518 for 6 years, only then the scrolling went wrong.
I was about to get a new MX518 but then i saw an upgraded mx518 mouse, called G400s.
The G400s is awesome in all means, if you plan on getting a new mouse, have a look at it.
