How to improve video quality

Been given a dvd with footage from the early 90’s. The quality is not good. Is there any way I can re record it and improve the quality? Thanks

I don’t think you can..You decrease the quality but I’m not so sure you can increase it..

There is no way in which you can simply increase quality.

unfortunately it is impossible for video files , there are some software which claims to do it but they just can make colors and such more lively but doesnt worth the effort. increasing the actual quality is impossible. if it was a video game , you may be able to get some minor improvements through applying some technologies such as anti aliasing and anisotropic filtering.

Just the same as improving the visual quality of an old photograph , run it through Adobe Premier or some other video editing program and fix any color cast , remove noise adjust contrast and saturation a little sharpness etc and then export it again .

I was told, only the quality of the master copy can be improved. But saying that if your trying to make it lighter. Google Virtualdub
