Sound not in sync

August 9th, 2016

When i play some AVIs i can hear sound/music but it’s only background noise and I can’t hear what the characters are saying. This also happened when i put a DVD in my computer and then it worked fine in my dvd player.
I have tried multiple players; VLC, WMP 11, classic WMP.
Any ideas what’s wrong?

Wow, this sounds like some serious codec issues. What kind of codecs are you using? Are you on XP or Vista?
Answer #2
Maybe the video is just messed up

XP SP3
I’ve only installed k-lite codec pack to my knowledge.

That’s what i thought at first but i get the same problem with playing normal DVDs. I then try it on my tv/dvd player and the sound works fine.

I assume you’ve done the obligatory reinstalling of video drivers, codecs etc.?

you can try the following:
go to start>control panel>sounds and audio devices.
when the window opens, go down to speaker settings and click the "advanced" button. on the new window that opens, click the performance tab. move the hardware acceleration tab to the left once and apply. if still having sound problems keep moving the slider to the left. if this don't fix your problem please post back.

the above usually fixes sound stuttering, lagging, and other sound problems.
