[SOLVED] Internet coverage boost

Hi guys,
So I am trying to a bit of tech, but I can’t remember the name
Basically you plug it into the mains and then an Ethernet cable goes from the device to your required device, playstation for example. There is no need to connect the device to your modem or router. It works as long as you have an internet connection in your house (I think).
I saw it on the Gadget Show within the last year, I’ve been trawling through google trying to find the episode but I havent found anything yet.
My playstation gets about 30% signal strength and with this device I can hard wire it without the need for a 20 m Ethernet cable and a drill
I know there are other ways to boost signal, like bits of tin foil around the router, there are directed antennas available.

The devices you are talking about are called “powerline adaptors”.
You have to have your router plugged in somewhere in the house to get the ip settings etc from the internet provider, but then you can plug the powerline adaptors in to take the signal through the electricity.

EDIT: do i need to get on that is the same make as my router, or will that not matter?
