Question about converting/encoding dvd’s.

August 2nd, 2016

When you encode/convert a dvd to a different format, if you set the file size as 900mb instead of 700mb. Will that help increase the quality, or will it decrease the quality? You would think by compressing it to a bigger file size, it would help increase the output quality.
Let me know, thanks.

Answer #1
It won’t increase the original output quality. However, if you keep things in check the quality will remain the same and you won’t suffer any loss to it. Good luck mate^^
Answer #2
I was just wondering. If you think about it, makes sense to have better quality. But I guess it doesn’t work that way. Thanks!
Answer #3
Setting the file size from 700mb to 900mb will increase the output quality of the converted DVD. The more room the better.
Answer #4

Yes, but re-encoding a DVDRip from 700MB to 900MB will not improve the quality, only going directly from DVD will do that.
