Pause/Resume in CD Burning

Recently, we have this frequent power cuts in our place b’coz of our fcuking Government decisions.
I got a backup for my computer but it can withstand only upto 30 minutes under CPU normal load.
Under fully loaded states like when CD Burning , the Backup maximum withstand upto max 10-15 minutes which is totally useless.
Three days back I’ve decided to burn some Bluray & HD Movies to 8.5 GB Dvd’s from my external hard-disk to give to my pal. But during the burning process I got this powercut. So, the whole DVD got wasted. I can’t use it again.
There is no guarantee for continuous power in our place. Its really difficult to burn a CD or DVD. So I was wondering that is there any software that would allow Pause/Resume functions during Burning process.
If so, please let me now..!!
