Need html help

Hi, i’m here asking for some html help, because i have been training a bit on html programming, but i came across a problem that i can’t really solve right now.
In the webpage i’m creating i need to give the user the option to select his country, but instead of creating a huge selection list i thought i could have some countries and then have an option that when selected would show a new input field for the user to write his country.
Any tips would be appreciated
