Mouse DPI and Windows default DPI setting

January 25th, 2020

Hey all, Currently i’m using an MX518 for gaming. I play counter strike alot, and the sensitivity of the mouse is annoying me, I never can’t get it right. So, as some of you may know the MX518 has DPI buttons to lower or raise the DPI on the fly.
Using Windows XP
Windows sets the mouse’s DPI to 400, 800 or 1600 DPI when you push these buttons.
When Windows boots up it defaults the DPI of the mouse to 400 or 800, is there a way to alter this setting? ( I would like to default this at say, 1600 DPI when I boot Windows )
I’m also looking for a program to check the current DPI setting of my mouse.
does anyone have a program that does this? NOTE: I am NOT willing to use the Setpoint drivers as these enable some sort of acceleration even when acceleration is set to off, wich I find very annoying, and thus I need a solution without the use of Setpoint!!!
Thanks in Advance

Answer #1
you can disable the acceleration in setpoint
Answer #2
you can disable the acceleration in setpoint
I already tried this, yet it STILL gives some sort of acceleration, it’s weird, it’s like really low, but it’s there

Answer #4
is enhance pointer precision enabled ?
either in setpoint or windows mouse options ?
that slows the pointer, especially around buttons or menus
