internet is not working

July 31st, 2016

All of a sudden my internet has stopped working. I am using a modem and a separate wireless router. I am using a wireless usb adapter on my pc which normally works. I am not sure why it is not working. I tried to use different devices, a tablet, desktop, laptop and phone but it will not connect but does display. The internet works when it is wired through a Ethernet. If anyone can advice me on how to overcome this.. It will be very helpful.
Thank you

Yes Viirgin Media, it works fine with the Ethernet cable. Just all of a sudden the wireless is not working on any device.
Answer #3
Try switching off both the rooter and modem and on again…That sometimes fix the problem…

Happened to me with my HP when Wi-Fi is without use for a while and on battery (don’t know why), but I make it work disabling the Wi-Fi adapter and enabling again from the Network adapters in the Device Manager window.

Yep, the old “off and on” trick usually works. Leave it off for a minute or two.
Answer #7
I tried it all. I have resetmy wireless router. The problem I have that on the router the modem and wireless icon are flashing orange.

I tried it all. I have resetmy wireless router. The problem I have that on the router the modem and wireless icon are flashing orange.go into your router settings, and make sure nothing changed, and the wireless is enabled, and any device trying to use it has the same settings for router name and password. I don’t know what brand router you have, but the IP address of it may be 192.168.1.1

Thank you for your effort.
Answer #10
Thank you, I have tried what you suggested before. I have a feeling the wireless router is just not working. My laptop connects to the wireless router and it comes up on my device. But it is always limited.
Answer #11
See if you can borrow a router of a friend for half an hour connect and see if it works if it does then its your router for sure if it does’nt probably a line problem and contact your provider.
Quick edit check your line filter first they are notorious for failing.
Answer #12
Is your wifi router connected to the same network?
Have you tried disabling your protection and then connecting? (wep/wpa)
Answer #13
you can try this. set the DNS servers manually on the wireless devices(laptop etc.) for the wireless connection. sometimes some devices have a problem using the DNS from the router.
Answer #14
Did it even occur to you that maybe its not your modem but there end or even worst someone outside dug up your line and cut it by accident. People always like to tinker with there modem settings when there net goes down only to make matters worse then find out it was your ISP.
