How to remove a partition

June 27th, 2021

Hello
I have a hard drive on my computer and I divided it into two drives with one having around 768 gbs on it and I want to erase the partition so it joins with the larger partition.
How do I do this without erasing the data on my computer and what software should I do it with?
Thank you.

Answer #1
Partition Magic is good for that. It should be listed in apps somewhere. read the instructions carefully..
Answer #2
Windows can do what you want without additional software:
on run / cmd prompt type:
diskmgmt.msc
– Right click the partition you want to remove and select delete volume
– then on the other partition right click and select expand volume
It will add the empty space to the existing partition.

You need to empty one of the partitions..
Then using “Acronis Disk Director” Delete the empty partition and resize the other..
I don’t recommend Partition Magic as it’s so outdated and have a habit of messing up modern hard drives..

From the partition you want to delete: Copy and paste or cut and paste anything you want to keep onto the other partition. When that is done use any partitioning software (I use EaseUS Partition Master) to delete the unwanted partition. This will leave you with unused space and you just resize (as says) the partition you are left with to take up all the unused/unallocated space.
