I have an old document that I scanned and saved as both pdf and jpeg.
let’s say I wanted to rearrange the letters in a different order and keep the appearance of the letters the same, what would be the best way to do that?

Answer #1
Open in a program that lets you edit pics. I myself would use MS paint, but behind the times when it comes to editing docs etc.. With paint you can select words or letters and arrange them, but there more then likely would be better programs to use. You do this by selecting a box around a word or letter and then cut and paste else where…

You need a photo editor as mentioned, Adobe PS, Krita or Gimp will do.

I’m not very adept at Photoshop, can you help me just a bit with details on the process? thanks.

I’m not familiar with the program either myself, I’ll just assume that you use the select tool then the move tool, the program will consider the text part as a graphical area not actual text.
Answer #5
MS paint will do the job lol… Probably the more simple of the editing programs which can open and edit how you want.. ctrl x, ctrl v, to move letters or words around on blank white space after selecting them with the box selector, then resize doc when finished and save..

It’s my DD214, and as you can see, they misspelled Los Angeles. I want to correct it, that’s all. But thanks for your concern.

Mate as this is a letter of discharge and an extremely official document. I’d be very weary of making changes and would seriously consider going through an official channel to have it corrected. But it is of course up to you.

It’s a 45 year old document and hasn’t been used in an official capacity in at least 30. I doubt they will be sending out the storm troopers in response to my altering it. At this point it only exists for my personal archive.
