How to make keyboard shortcuts?

As the title says….how can I make keyboard shortcuts? For example if I want to write a long word like ‘misunderstanding’ how can I get that word without actually typing the whole thing? So if I type ‘misun’ it’ll automatically change to misunderstanding. Is there any way to do this?

There is a great small freeware app called typertask. Most of these shortcut apps are commercial.

On my computer, if I want to access a shortcut I type a ` and then my code. You can set this character to be anything you want. For example, typing ` then rt types in my email address.
These shortcuts work everywhere.
