how to change my wireless routers DNS?
February 4th, 2020
I want to use Google’s DNS so I can enter sites like filestube etc and when the block happens for – I can still get on without a problem!
I have a DLINK DIR-615 wireless router hooked up to my Virgin media superhub.
it’s running a custom .bin which is DD-WRT BUILD 23320.
how and where can I change the settings to allow my wireless router to use Google’s DNS?
thanks!
Under network address server settings. You have to enable and then drop 8.8.8.8 and the other one into DNS1 and DNS2
it’s not working. I set them:
but when I try and go on a site that’s blocked, it tells me that I am blocked.
when I do a “nslookup” it says I’m using DDWRT server?
DNS will not get you through all blocks – it depends on how the ISP had done it.
If they have used a domain name block, it doesn’t even get to the Google DNS. If it’s an IP block, then the DNS work-around might work.
If they’ve done both, VPN or tor etc are about the only ways to go.
try tor browser
