How is this ~$1500 build?

July 31st, 2013

This is my first computer I’m building myself so I’m not sure if I’m doing it right. This will be a do everything (hopefully well) computer, including video encoding and editing, photoshop, light gaming (I’m not a real PC gamer.. something about sitting in an upright chair with a mouse and keyboard on a desk bugs me… but even just testing cool graphics sounds fun sometimes).
The parts I’m not really sure about are the hard drive, the ram (I do want 16gb.. the price is so cheap) and the power supply. I’m also going to add a couple of 200mm fans to the case (top and side). Do I need to add the 140mm fan to the front?
Do I need thermal paste?
Also how exactly do I find the best prices for everything? How do I know what is sold in combos or not?

I think a lot of fans come with the case ? And controllers?
Found this vid on assembling the case…Looks nice !

That HDD is good and the price is reasonable too, considering the price hikes after the floods.
All looks reasonable really..Wait for comments from those in the know
