Help Needed in Subtitles please !

Hi friends,
I am able to download the srt subtitle file of every movie and also I am able to insert it to ConvertXtoDVD into external subtitle but it IMPOSSIBLE to read the subtitles while watching the movie …
Excuse my ignorance but any help is much appreciated Thank you in advance
