help downgrading to windows XP
August 8th, 2016
Yea..Boot with the XP CD..Format and install XP…ntfs and quick format option…After the install is finished install the drivers…
with the latest updated xp pro most drivers will be installed with xp
so i can for instance download and burn this xp professional http://www.google.com?t=2152291&highlight=
and then install it, etc. and since the acer website has drives for xp professional x32 i should be ok?
Yea…The drivers should work with all XP Editions…32 bit drivers with 32 bit XP..
so while i am booting from cd it will automatically format?
You choose the partition you want to install windows in…And on the next screen you get a choice of formats…Once you formated..the install will automatically start…
okay so i have run into a problem.. i have installed xp and it starts up and runs fine.. i have installed my audio driver so i am able to hear from my speakers and installed graphics driver, etc. but for some reason i do not know how to intstall the driver so i can be able to connect online… how do i install the network driver?
You mean your modem driver? Wireless driver?
Will be your network driver

i am trying to connect to my wired connection… the drives that i have from the acer website are three lan drivers and two modem drivers but i have no clue what to do
edit** under my system and device manager,. the ethernet controller device says The drivers for this device are not installed. (code 28) To reinstall the drivers fr this device, click reinstall driver
i click that but nothing happens
install one of the lan drivers and it should work
Hmm ok do the following steps :
1. Go to “My Computer”
2.Click on ” System Information ” In the first box on your left
3.Go to “Hardware” Then click on ” Device Manager ” Find your networks driver name ( it should have a next to it )
Look it up between the many drivers you’ve found and install it.
this is the screenshot.. the only thing with the yellow balloon is the ethernet controller.
EDIT !
Download EVEREST Ultimate Edition 2009
http://www.google.com?t=1458451&highlight=
Run it and it should tell you exactly which driver you need.
Then go to http://www.driverguide.com/
And search for your driver.
grrrr i ran the test and didn’t really find anything to help me out.. i am so close completing this downgrade and it ithree difs driving me insane! i have three different LAN folders from the acer website and i have no clue
Ok Hmm..Another solution
Download the Belarc Advisor
http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
Run it, it will give you a list of everything that is on your computer. Then find anything related to ” Ethernet Controller ” . See if it matches the LAN drivers you’ve found on acer’s website and install it.
EDIT – If that didn’t work. My last solution would be Driver Genius Professional 2008 v8.0.316
http://www.google.com?t=1808015&highlight=
Run, use keygen, search for missing drivers, download and install.
