CPU cooling block compatible with motherboard

How do you know if a cpu water cooling block will be compatible with a motherboard? I got ASrock X79 Extreme 11 Intel X79 motherboard was looking to get XSPC RayStorm CPU Water/Liquid Cooling Block will it fit on the motherboard? or this one Koolance CPU-380I Intel Processor Water Cooling Block

They should fit any motherboard OK…It just replaces the existing cooler…So it must fit a 2011 soicket.
You just need room for mounting the fan units in your case or outside!

And yes, it appears that the cooler must have the correct mounting bracket especially for the 2011 socket..

Both of those coolers you suggested, say they have the 2011 mountings in their specs.

yeah I read somewhere that the water block must be compatible with the motherboard but I was not sure. I will try asking the koolance website I plan on buying the block for for compatibility with my motherboard
