[Cant be solved]Prevent files to be copied off HDD

July 27th, 2020

Hey all. I. Searched google but it didn’t really help me much. I am wondering if there is a way I can prevent files to be copied from my external hard drive. I want to be able to still execute my movies and watch them normally. But I don’t want anyone to be able to copy the movies off them if for whatever reason that is the case. I also don’t just want to add a password to the HDD. I just want to stop any type of altering to the HDD itself, but still be able to execute the files inside it. Thanks.

If such a technology existed, none of us would be here and we would all be buying apps, movies and games from stores.
Answer #2
disconnect your ext. hard drive from your rig..
keep and hide it.. use it only when you want to watch movies inside that drive
hmmm no any other way.. just being practical.. XD
Answer #3
Depending on who has access to your HD i would just suggest the simple things.
Like making your folder hidden, plus hide that folder in another folder where it normally wouldn’t be stored.
It may not help stop them accessing it, but they have to find it first.

You can use a program like TrueCrypt to password protect a folder or even an entire hard drive. That way no one can access it without the password.
TrueCrypt is freeware too. You can find it here:
