Can I jailbreak PS3 with faulty Disk Drive?

I already have a flashed 360 and I want to buy a PS3 just to play PS3 exclusives so there is no point in getting a fully functional PS3. If I buy a PS3 with faulty drive can that be jailbroken and play backups?

yes. But not all games work. I would suggest you to check out… psjcl.com and you can see which games work and dont work with or without disc. I have about 40 games, and only like 4 of them need disc…. (which are the good ones too) Heavy Rain…. But for example.. Nba2k11 does not require disc… so there are other good games that do work without disc….
if that ps3 you have is still on 3.41 or under… you might as well do it, you can sell it for more….

Thanks for the reply but I dont understand what it means by Internal and External and I dont see where it says it needs a disc or not. The only games I want to play are
god of war 3
killzone 2
metal gear solid
uncharted 1 and 2
Heavenly Sword
Ninja gaiden sigma and Resistance 2
