Borderlands patch 1.1 Issue…

When I go to update Borderlands (Which I downloaded here) to 1.1, I get a message saying:
This package will only update the retail DVD version of Borderloands. If you purchased your copy from an online digital distribution service that allowed you to download the product, then you must receive updates from them.
I have found no workarounds. Maybe I should download another copy of borderlands?

install zombie island it will automatically patch your game to 1.1.

looks like you installed the Digital Download version. You would need a DD patch. The patch your found works on the Retail boxed verson. Agree with , install the DLC and your will have 1.1 game version

EDIT: nevermind, my technique didnt work either for me.

Patching cracked games usually requires you to use the .exe file that installed with the game. Try that
