Block access to internet for android app

so i am looking for something
that can stop the push notifications from the facebook app and the email app.
basically i will be sometimes giving my tablet to my brother, and i dont want any notification then.
i was thinking of blocking access to the internet for those apps.
is there a app that can do that?
or is there any other way i can do this? (without turning off sync for each of them everytime)

You might as well root your device. That way, you can install a firewall like DroidWall to control application Internet access.
