Are any of you guys playing “Lost Planet 2”

March 25th, 2018

I just got into gaming “Lost Planet 2″ an boy is it exciting, personally I think it’s the hottest game I have seen released this whole summer
Graphics are awesome, even by DirectX 9 standards, I will be upgrading my O.S. soon too Windows 7 for DirectX 11 capabilities I can imagine what this game must look like on DirectX 11?!?!?
Also…I personally think it beat out ‘Medal Of Honor 2010” graphics wise an “Mafia 2”.
I thought this was goning to be a 12GB install worth of crap like “Aliens V.s. Predator” was, that was a real disappointment!!!!!!!!
I finally got my buttons mapped too my game pad properly, played a few frames of the game & I was extremely impressed , going to get onto gaming this hard tomorrow.
I am burning this game straight too disc.
Question thou…….I downloaded this game as a bunch of 12GB property files, here are the contents of the folder.

The game installs perfectly, but I would like to burn these 12GB files too disc so that it is installable, so when I put in disc one it would complete an ask for disc 2.
How would I align these files on separate discs ( 8GB on one disc, 4GB on the other ) so I would be able to complete this task???

Answer #1
Zip All Files With Winrar & Then Split It With HJ Split Into 400MB Parts Then Write All Parts In Both Dvd,s
Answer #2
^ he says it will ask for disk 2 automatically , will HJsplit do that or just winrar does the job!?

I don’t really follow? Can you dumb it down a few, this would be my first time doing this, is this confirmed too work, I have limited 8GB disc media as it is an using disc an not being unsuccessful would be a total bummer
If I were too put 8GB of data on one 8GB disc along with the startup install .exe, which files would i need on that 8GB disc, an how would it then verify that another disc is needed for install???

1. Extract game to LP2 folder
2. Make 3 folder: DISK1, DISK2, DISK3
3. Move LOST_P~7.cab, LOST_P~8.cab, LOST_P~9.cab and ‘redist’ folder from LP2 to DISK3
4. Move LOST_P~5.cab, LOST_P~6.cab to DISK2
5. Delete ISSetupPrerequisites folder
6. Move all file from LP2 to DISK1
7. Download LOST PLANET 2.rar and extract overwrite to DISK1

8. Burn DISK1, DISK2, DISK3 with same label. DVD1: 4.30GB; DVD2: 4.0GB; DVD3: 3.76GB
9. Install Seq: DISK1 -> DISK2 -> DISK3
Note: After install, you must to install PrerequisitesL: DirectX, Microsoft Games for Windows – LIVE from DISK3\redist

Thanx tooth
I guess when you do the math, there is no way you can split these 12GB files into 2 discs like I have suggested so the best way is too split this game into a 3 disc install.
I was just wondering, when you suggested for me too download the “PLANET 2.rar” & extract an overwrite, I noticed that the contents of uploaded you loaded too hotfiles consists of a Lost Planet ini.file an a Lost Planet.exe file

But I noticed that my folder already contains these said file like as shown in screen shot above with all the folder contents, so my question is did you re-write these files in anyway to make the burning or reading while installing process work?
Just would like too know for future projects
Thanx again
This game is intense by the way.

If you join/split DVDs frequently like you’re doing here, you should probably have this topic bookmarked; great topic by sarkar:

Thanx for the link recommend I do not do it frequently but I would like too do this with this game.
My mission is to try to put this game on 2 discs, but like I said before 99% of the games content are packed into these .rar files, an these .rar files range in differently sizes. So it would not be possible to put these files onto two discs in their specific order ( .rar files LOST_P~1 through LOST_P~9 ) But I could separate them an place them onto two discs, but I don’t think that the discs would be installable??
I will try your thread thou, any other feed back would help

I to wondered why when I read those many pages of that thread that your name was on all the replies in response to helping people???
I almost thought I was on the wrong thread, being that I was recommended the thread in question.
Then after awhile I figured it was your thread , I doubt a MOD or ADMIN is going to grant you total permission to his thread, an it would be a pain too recreate that thread in your own image being everyone seems too refer too you on that page.
Just keep up the great work, it does not maker whose name is on the header of the thread because everyone knows you provide the service an you get all the kudos
