Adding a 3rd graphic card.

January 20th, 2020

Hi I have 2 8800gts I want to add an ati card to it so i can run SLI mode and still be able to have dual monitor.
I was thinking about getting this card:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814121100
but then i saw it is pci express 2.0 i’m not sure if my mobo supports that, I have an 680i sli, im using both black slots and I still have a blue pci express slot (is there any difference between the blacks one and the blu, like x16, x8?) so can I make this works or not?
thanks?

you can’t do that. much less pair up 2 nvidias with an ati.
Answer #2
lol your crazy dude you cant run SLI and then add an ATI on it, youll kill your performance gain from the SLI. Just hook up both your monitors to the first video card, and run a dual screen SLI setup. shouldnt be too hard

Ill probably lose some point in 3dmark but not much, and yes I can do that… search google thats what everyone else does to make it work….
Answer #4
alright, then, so have you got the spare PCI Express port to add the card in??? I’ve never actually heard of this being done, but oh well. If you have the right port and the card, plug it in and try it out. Have you tried to dual screen with just your SLI setup???

Why would you want three? The spare PCI-E x16 slot is for a physics card, that was the point of putting on the board. There isn’t a away of getting 3 graphics cards to work together like that as far as I know.
