Skyrim data files greyed out in launcher?

Hey there, downloaded the steam files from awesomes post before the game came out, and then downloaded the crack + update. Game works flawlessly, been playing without issues in game for about 12 hours, but one thing that bugs me is the Data Files section in the launcher being greyed out and unclickable. It means I can’t activate the update.esp and will prevent further modding in the future. Is this the case for EVERYONE (even retail buyers) until the construction set is released? Or is it just pirates? Is there a workaround?

i dont think we had any dlc for you to check off. nothing to activate that i know of

Razors update came with an “update.esm”, which I assume had to be activated manually, it’s been the procedure for past beth games.

Went to go see a mate today who bought the game, and he can access the data files just fine. I’ve had a poke around the ini files, and everything looks fine. Must be something with the crack.

Having the same problem with the files from “I am awesomes” post.
Wanna install some mods, but can’t. Guess the crack is doing something to it :/ Meh, really wanted thoose damn spiders away!

Damn, that’s quite a big mistake yes. I just checked, mine is also greyed out.
EDIT: Aha, there is an easy fix
go into SkyrimPrefs.ini and add under [Launcher]:
bEnableFileSelection=1

I accidently removed my friends skyrimprefs.ini in documents, the game generated a new one, but I noticed the Data Files was not greyed out any longer.
