Safety Remove Hardware Disappear

I’m using Windows XP SP3 and facing a problem of Safety Remove Hardware icon disappear from the taskbar (near time). I spent many days reading from Google but they usually talk about icon just hiding. I’ve tried command to show Safety Remove Hardware dialog while external device is connected but still no record in the list. What I have in mind is that Windows confuse that there is device connected, so Safety Remove Hardware won’t appear. I’ve tried check disk and reinstall external device driver but still no luck. Have anyone have any experience on this issue? Please help!

Just stick a shortcut on your desktop that points to
RunDll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll
You can just double click it to remove stuff.
It’s crap anyway, you are much better using USB Safely Remove

But Safety Remove Hardware dialog doesn’t show any devices to remove.

When it does that, are the items showing in Device Manager ?
Start > Run > Devmgmt.msc
Try the other app I linked above and see if that shows them.
